It is a bit of a cautionary tale for any author who has ever sold their story outright to a publisher, who then hires ghostwriters to continue writing about a story world they have no actual attachment to, instead of allowing the author who actually has a strong and deep emotional attachment to it continue writing the series.
She is approached by an otherworldly muse who is determined to make her see that her help is the only thing that will revive the dying world she had always thought was only fictional.
