From Supergirl to Bella Swan: Why we need to STOP writing females in fiction that are impossibly Perfect | a Kentucky Writer’s Conference workshop

Anyone who follows my events on Facebook will have already seen that I was asked to teach a workshop on Children’s day of the SOKY Book Fest and Kentucky Writer’s Conference this spring.

With feminist ideals in this country in a state of ever-changing confusion right now, I feel it is especially important to call attention to our intended audience and the sort of role models they really need in fiction to properly inspire and impassion them!

Leading up to the workshop, I plan to post several different topics of conversation in the event page on Facebook – and I just might use some replies to those conversations in the actual workshop.

I hope you will check out the posts and join in the discussion as I continue to prep for the workshop in April.
